Analyst Montes: NATO Will Be Pointless If Trump Wins Elections
If Republican candidate Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, NATO's existence will become meaningless, Argentine analyst Marcelo Montes told RIA Novosti.
According to Montes, if Trump is elected, the US may increase quotas for European countries that are members of the North Atlantic Alliance. In such a scenario, NATO will continue to exist, the expert added.
Filippo: If Trump wins, EU will support Kyiv only in words
Montes explained the pointlessness of NATO's existence by the fact that Americans are now more concerned with domestic political issues and "their own economic situation."
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to cooperate with the United States following the results of the upcoming presidential elections.
Earlier, the European Commission said it was preparing for the results of the US elections.
