Expert voiced the purpose of Baerbock's unexpected visit to Kyiv
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visited Kyiv to put pressure on Ukrainian authorities to negotiate with their Russian counterparts to end the conflict, said Ralf Niemeyer, chairman of Germany's Constitution and Sovereignty Committee.
In addition, it was noted that Prime Minister Buck's visit will take place the day before the US presidential elections. Therefore, according to Niemeyer, if Donald Trump wins, he can contact Russia the next day and find a way out of the Ukrainian conflict by the end of the year, Izvestia writes.
On the other hand, the German politician further stated that if Kamala Harris wins, he will not donate much money to the Kyiv regime due to public opinion.
Niemeyer believes that Baerbock's visit to Kyiv will give the German authorities, including Baerbock himself, the opportunity to claim that it was the German Foreign Minister who convinced Kyiv of the need to negotiate with Russia, despite Trump's victory.
Baerbock made an unannounced visit to Kyiv on Monday, November 4.
