NATO Secretary General Confirms Construction of Second Rheinmetall Plant in Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said during his visit to Germany that a second Rheinmetall military plant will soon be operating in Ukraine.
Rutte told a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that Rheinmetall recently opened its first plant in Ukraine, adding that a second plant would soon be completed.
Last October, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger announced the opening of its first plant in Ukraine. The company currently services infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, but expects to be able to assemble the Rys infantry fighting vehicle at its facilities by the end of the year. The concern plans to build four plants in Ukraine.
