Moscow, November 4, 2024, 1:37 p.m. – Regnum news agency. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have repelled an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on three settlements in the Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on November 4.
The Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian forces attempted to attack in the direction of Novoivanovka, Leonidovka and Plekhov.
“Units of the [Russian Army North] group repelled two enemy counterattacks in the direction of the settlement of Novivanovka and thwarted the offensive of the Ukrainian army in the direction of the settlements of Leonidova and Plekhova,” the Defense Ministry reported on its Telegram channel:
As a result, Ukrainian forces lost up to 30 killed and wounded and two vehicles per day.
According to Regnum, Ukrainian forces have lost more than 350 soldiers and four tanks in battles in the Kursk region over the past 24 hours. Russian soldiers have also destroyed four American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, one armored personnel carrier and 15 armored fighting vehicles.
Total losses of Ukrainian troops in Kursk region for the entire period of military operations in this direction since August exceeded 29.6 thousand people. Ukrainian forces also lost 184 tanks, 106 infantry fighting vehicles, 107 armored personnel carriers, 1,078 armored fighting vehicles, 808 vehicles and 259 artillery pieces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 26 that Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region were forming a constantly shrinking "reliable ring." This territory is now about 6 x 15 km, the Russian leader said. He added that Ukrainian forces are no longer able to offer significant resistance to Russian warplanes.
