As TASS reports, citing law enforcement officials, a military court has arrested Deputy Commander of the Russian Guard's rear services, Major General Mirza Mirzayev, on charges of bribery. The Mash Telegram channel also reports this.
RBC sent a request to the press service of the Russian National Guard and the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and asked for a comment from the press service of the Moscow City Court.
According to Mash, Mirzaev demanded 140 million rubles. It threatened to terminate a contract worth 480 million rubles with a supplier of modules for prefabricated houses. The prison chief and his broker were detained after receiving the money, the channel writes.
Mirzaev was deputy commander of the Southern Sector of the Russian National Guard. He graduated from the Military Academy of Logistics and Transport in St. Petersburg (renamed in 2012 into the Military Academy of Logistics and Technical Support named after General of the Army A.V. Khrulyov).
According to the Central Election Commission, in 2015, Mirza Mirzaev ran for election to the Budyonnovsk Duma of Stavropol Krai, and then worked in one of the city’s military units.
At the end of September, a military court arrested Colonel Oleg Gamayunov, head of the aviation technical service of the aviation technical base of the Russian Guard, in a case of fraud on an especially large scale. According to TASS, this includes the State Defense Order for the supply of flight equipment systems to the Russian Guard. The damage was estimated at more than 80 million rubles. Alexander Khinshtein, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Intelligence Policy, said that, according to the investigation, Gamayunov was a member of an organized criminal group created to steal budget funds.
