Trump says leaving White House after 2020 election defeat was a mistake

Former US President Donald Trump said he considers it a mistake to leave the White House after losing the 2020 presidential election, RIA Novosti reports.

"The day I left, we had the most secure border in the history of this country. I never should have left. Frankly <...> we did too well, we did well," he told supporters at a rally in Pennsylvania.

President Trump has yet to concede defeat in the 2020 presidential election and claims the election was rigged. He has also expressed doubt about the integrity of the upcoming election and claimed that there are now “hundreds of lawyers” at every polling place.

Earlier, American businessman Elon Musk said that he expects President Trump to win a "stunning victory" in the US presidential election.

Early voting in Pennsylvania now shows Republicans have 435,000 more votes than Democrats on the same day in 2020, he said.

The US presidential election will be held on November 5, 2024. In late August, Democratic lawmakers officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as their party's presidential nominee, while Republicans also nominated Trump as their candidate for US leader.
