Van Plunges into Chasm in Ecuador, Kills Ten
Ten people, including three children, have died after a van plunged into a ravine in eastern Ecuador.
According to RIA Novosti, the tragedy occurred in the eastern Ecuadorian province of Morona-Santiago, as a result of which a van fell into a chasm. Ten people died in the accident, including three children.
According to preliminary information from the police, the driver of the van may have lost control and fell into a chasm near the Paute River. The six-year-old girl survived, but her condition is difficult to determine.
Local firefighters quoted by Primicias said the van was stuck between rocks, making it difficult to remove the body. Fire Chief John Cordero added that additional efforts would be needed to remove the van.
