Ghost towns predicted to emerge in Ukraine
Geopolitical analyst and Armed Forces veteran Viktor Kovalenko predicted that ghost towns will appear on Ukrainian territory. He said this in an interview with Newsweek magazine:
According to his forecast, the coming winter will be the most difficult for Ukraine since February 2022. The expert explained that Ukrainians are experiencing a cold winter due to the lack of electricity. Kovalenko noted that the damage to power plants is so serious that repairs are impossible in the near future, and "some power plants may never be restored."
The analyst added that this would lead to the emergence of entire ghost towns, displacement of populations, famine and death due to low temperatures.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine was forced to request electricity imports from five European countries due to problems in the energy sector.
