Trump said at one of his last rallies that he "should not have left"

Leaving office, Trump said the US had the “most secure border.” Politicians are unaware of the 2020 election results and believe the only way they can lose now is if the Democrats “rig it.”

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he should not have left the White House in January 2021, speaking at a rally at the Ritz Hotel in Pennsylvania two days before the end of his campaign, the New York Times reports.

"I shouldn't have left. We were doing very well. We were doing very well." He added that the day he left office, the United States had "the most secure border in American history." Now, Trump said, "there are hundreds of lawyers at every polling place."

The NYT writes that these comments echo what the Republican told his aides and allies days after he lost the 2020 presidential election. He did not admit it. He said he had “no intention” of leaving. “We will never leave. How can I leave if I win the election?” the politician said then.

On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters surrounded the Capitol building, where Congress was to meet to certify the results of the presidential election. The crash left five people dead and 140 police officers injured. The US Congress impeached Trump, accusing him of inciting violence. The politician later condemned the storming of the Capitol. The US is considering cases related to Trump's attempt to overturn his loss in the 2020 presidential election.

During this presidential election, Trump repeatedly claimed that the only plausible explanation for his defeat in 2024 would be “fraud” by the Democratic Party. At a rally in Lietz, he called Democratic lawmakers “devils” and flatly claimed that reporters were spreading “fake news.” After two attempts on his life, President Trump made it clear that he “wouldn’t care” if someone shot a journalist behind bulletproof glass, the Washington Post reports.

The latest national NBC News poll found that 49 percent of voters were ready to vote for Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for vice president. Harris leads on abortion and middle-class rights, while Trump leads on the economy.
