Король Испании призвал понять гнев пострадавших от наводнения в Валенсии
Spain's King Felipe VI has called on people to understand the anger and despair of flood-hit Valencians, after the king and his entourage were drenched in mud in the town of Paiporta, which was hit hardest by the disaster.
King Felipe VI of Spain: "You must understand the anger and despair of many people at how bad things are for them."
According to the king, national authorities must not only give hope to those affected by the disaster, but also ensure their full presence and participation in resolving the emergency. During a visit to the Valencia Rowing Centre, the king thanked everyone involved in the work.
Earlier it was reported that the King and Queen of Spain, government officials and other dignitaries were touring the flood-hit region of Valencia when a crowd began throwing mud at them and chanting "Murderers!" and "Get out of the city!" Felipe VI and his wife Letizia continued to explore the city in an attempt to quell the discontent and maintain a dialogue with them.
As a reminder, the floods in Valencia were caused by heavy rain and gusty winds that hit Valencia on October 29. Some parts of the south and east of the country received a year's worth of rain in one day. According to the latest figures, 214 people have died as a result of the disaster, including 210 in the autonomous region of Valencia. Three days of mourning have been declared in the country.
