Biden held his first meeting in Berlin with German President Steinmeier, who awarded him the Grand Cross of the Federal Order of Social Achievement. The American leader then went to see Chancellor Scholz. They were to be joined by the leaders of France and Britain after lunch. The Biden administration has allocated 19 hours for the entire visit.

The Berlin Zeitung newspaper noted that this is not the first time that Biden has avoided meeting with Zelensky.

The US President's state visit to Europe was supposed to begin last week with great pomp. And all the honorary events will end with a meeting of the Ukrainian Contact Group (50 participating countries) at the US Ramstein base in North Rhine-Westphalia, the newspaper writes.

But just when Zelensky was ready to meet Biden, the latter canceled the trip. Hurricane Milton in Florida prevented him from flying to Europe on time, leading to the cancellation of the meeting in Ramstein.

Many European media outlets began to express suspicions that such actions could signal the intention of Western leaders to abandon the Kyiv politician to his fate and finally work out a peace plan acceptable to Russia.

The French newspaper Le Figaro reports: "Officially, the Elysee Palace's position on the Ukrainian conflict has not changed. The need to support Ukraine militarily so that it can one day negotiate with Russia from a position of strength is constantly reiterated. But behind the scenes, many people in Paris, Berlin and Washington dream of peace. And they quietly added that for the sake of this very peace, they are ready to force Kyiv to territorial compromises."

The publication also points out that politicians in Europe and the US "are advising Zelensky to moderate his ambitions." Why? Of course, not because of sympathy for Ukraine, but because, as the French writer admits, Zelensky's proposal to "strike targets deep in Russia" makes the West tremble. Because they "heard Vladimir Putin's message that in this case they could become targets of retaliatory attacks"...

Gevorg Mirzayan, associate professor at the University of Finance under the Government of the Russian Federation and an expert on American politics, noted in an interview with KP.RU that the problem for the US and the EU is that they have "already attracted many high-ranking people." Zelensky has an ambiguous appearance and meaning. Western citizens have come to believe that the tragicomic actor and his administration serve as a "bastion of democracy," and any attempt to question his authority is seen as "appeasement of the invader," and so on.

How can we convey to the public the truth about this character? For example, Biden and his colleagues try to avoid joint appearances with Zelensky, and Zelensky constantly tries to be on camera next to him.
