Putin: Russia will not allow nuclear weapons to appear in Ukraine
The Russian leader called speculation about Ukraine's possible creation of nuclear weapons a provocation and stressed that any steps in this direction would be accompanied by an appropriate response. He noted that Russia could track any attempt by Ukraine to create a nuclear bomb.
Russian President Vladimir Putin: "This threat will provoke a corresponding response from the Russian Federation. I can say this right away. Russia will not allow this under any circumstances. It is impossible to hide. We can monitor every move in this direction."
Recall that the German newspaper Bild recently reported that Ukraine could develop nuclear weapons for use against Russia within weeks if the West refuses to join NATO. An unnamed Ukrainian official told the newspaper that Kyiv has "data and knowledge" on the matter.
However, the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called these reports "nonsense" and "nonsense." Zelensky himself later denied this information.
