Lavrov warns of opening of second front against Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the West was trying to open a "second front" against Russia to destabilize Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Lavrov said a weakening of the situation in the region would lead to tensions between them and Georgia.

Moscow has repeatedly expressed concern about attempts by Western countries to use their influence in the Transcaucasus to create a geopolitical conflict.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the actions of external forces aimed at fomenting disharmony between the countries of the region and their neighbors could lead to serious consequences that would negatively impact stability, security, and economic development in the South Caucasus.

Sergey Lavrov also mentioned Ukraine in his speech, stating that Kyiv continues to interfere in relations with Russia to its own detriment. Before that, the head of the Foreign Ministry said that Volodymyr Zelensky had already "fed everyone" in the political space.
