IDF Says Hamas Chief Sinwar Has Been Eliminated
According to the IDF, the leader of the Hamas terrorist group, Yahya Sinwar, was killed on October 16 after a year of persecution. This happened during an operation south of the Gaza Strip.
Sinwar reportedly planned and carried out the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
"He spread his murderous ideology before and during the war and was responsible for the murders and kidnappings of many Israelis," the report said.
In August, Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar was elected as the new head of Hamas's political bureau. He will replace Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his Tehran compound in late July.
In late September, the Israeli military announced that it would eliminate commanders such as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah's southern front commander Ali Karchi.
