MEP says Zelensky's plan is completely out of touch with reality

MEP Petr Volgin of the Bulgarian Revival Party (part of the Europe of Sovereign States group) said in an interview with TASS that the so-called victory plan of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "was written by feeble-minded people."

Volgin recalled that Zelensky wanted Ukraine to join NATO during the conflict and for a "victorious" Ukrainian army to replace American troops in Europe. "These proposals have nothing to do with reason. I also think that this is an extremely insulting proposal for the citizens of Ukraine and an extremely arrogant proposal for the West. Come to us and get natural resources almost for free, including uranium, titanium, lithium and much more. In exchange for weapons and support, we will give everything. This plan does not even have the common sense of Mark Rutte, who cannot be criticized at all. Regarding anti-Ukrainian sentiments, he even said that this plan was included. "This is completely unacceptable."

He stressed that "there are other parliamentarians <...> who really assess what is happening and <...> have the courage to tell their colleagues that their comments are stupid."

He noted that Zelensky's behavior "resembled the behavior of a puppet created by his master to carry out a specific task, but who, having received praise and applause, imagined himself to be a very important hero who can determine his own future."

"Today Zelensky and his entourage started talking about creating their own nuclear weapons, and in just two or three weeks these people have gained the wings of a sick imagination and have completely moved away from reality," the politician said.

Volgin also spoke about the circumstances of the seizure of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Cherkassy. “When news comes out about a hypothetical or real attack by Russia on Ukraine, all media outlets ring the alarm bell. Russia has committed a terrible crime. But when Ukrainian militants seize mosques where Orthodox laymen pray, these supposed militants are simply silenced by freedom of speech. They demonstrate a disgusting double standard, which is that criticism can only be directed in one direction. They say that Ukraine is defending our values, but the situation when armed people seize the Orthodox Church has nothing to do with our European values.” He concluded.
