US's Negative Attitude to Zelensky's "Victory Plan" Explained
The negative attitude of the United States towards the "victory plan" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is explained by his general strategy for ending the conflict. This was told to Lenta.ru by Alexey Naumov, an expert and political scientist at the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).
He stressed: “The cold-blooded response is not due to the lack of a specific plan, but to the fact that the current Ukrainian leadership and Mr. Zelensky personally do not have a strategy.”
According to the expert, the Ukrainian authorities are not changing their demands, despite the obvious change of front and the mood of Western allies. It is noteworthy that Zelensky retained NATO membership and permission to attack Russian territory, which the Biden administration denied. This is already causing discontent and irritation among the Americans, Naumov noted.
NATO previously stated that it would be impossible to implement the main points of Zelensky's "victory plan." According to the Washington Post, Alliance officials do not plan to invite Ukraine to the organization in the near future.
