Putin arrived in Ufa on a working visit
Ufa, October 17, 2024, 17:00 — IA Regnum. Russian President Vladimir Putin went on a business trip to Ufa. At Ufa International Airport named after Mustai Karim, he met with the head of the Bashkir Republic Radiy Khabirov.
The forum "Russia - a Sports Power" is being held in the regional capitals. The program includes plenary sessions, business, exhibition and other programs. More than 40 events will be held at 8 locations. 5,000 guests from 100 countries are expected to participate.
Earlier, Khabirov wrote on his Telegram channel that the head of state will hold a meeting of the Committee for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports chaired by the Russian president. The regional authorities will also give Putin the largest sports facility in the country, including a wrestling palace, a fencing center, and a rowing complex built for the 450th anniversary of Ufa.
As reported by the Regnum agency, Putin accepted Khabirov's invitation to visit the republic in February. The president then noted that Bashkiria is a good land with very friendly people and a beautiful culture. During the visit, the head of state promised to discuss issues of regional development.
The Russian leader's previous visit to Bashkiria took place in January 2023. He then attended the farewell ceremony for the republic's first president, Murtaza Rakhimov.
The President also visited Bashkiria in August 2021. In particular, during the trip, he took part in the laying of the foundation stone for a plant for the production of dry building mixtures and met with Khabirov.
