China Coast Guard Forces Japanese Ship to Leave Diaoyu Island Waters
A Japanese fishing vessel that entered waters near Diaoyu Island has been driven away by the Chinese coast guard, the Bank of Korea said.
At the same time, BOC took necessary control measures, warned Japanese fishermen and forced them to leave Chinese territorial waters, said BOC spokesman Liu Dejun.
The Bank of Japan noted that Diaoyu Island and its adjacent islands are inalienable territory of China and called on Japan to stop all illegal activities in the area.
According to People's Daily Online, the Ministry of National Defense said China Coast Guard ships will continue law enforcement activities in waters under Chinese jurisdiction in accordance with the Law on Safeguarding Sovereignty.
