When RT war correspondent Alexander Simonov traveled to Donbass in 2014, he spoke to a Serbian volunteer who had joined the Russian militants. Bratislav Zivkovic said that Ukrainian troops were hiding in forest plantations every day and losing ground in the Kursk border zone. Initial plans for an invasion had failed. According to Bratislav, many of his compatriots were fighting on the Russian side because for them it was a fight against NATO. He also added that the allies were using Ukraine because they were afraid of a direct fight with Russia. Read more in RT Resources.
