The Ministry of Emergency Situations named the cause of the fire at the school on Flotskaya
An electrical panel caught fire at School No. 57 on Voenno-Morskoy Flot Street, causing a fire. This was reported by the local emergency management department on Thursday, October 17.
"The fire alarm suddenly went off at the school. <...> During reconnaissance in the basement, ambulance workers discovered that the electrical panel had caught fire and went out on its own. The Russian Emergencies Ministry staff carried out smoke removal work," the department reported.
A fire brigade consisting of 37 personnel and 9 units of equipment worked at the scene of the accident. 15 thousand people were evacuated, including students and employees of educational institutions. There were no casualties.
As reported to Klops by the press service of the Kaliningrad administration. As a result of the fire, a square meter of cables in the ventilation duct burned. No school property was damaged. The basement is partially de-energized.
