"Help, my fate is at stake." Ural conscripts on signing contracts behind their backs
The number of conscripts of the Chevarkul military unit of the 90th Guards Tank Division who are known to have signed contracts continues to grow. Recently, more people or their relatives have contacted us. One of the soldiers received a starting salary of 400,000 rubles, which was significantly higher than the typical salary level for conscripts. The soldiers and their family members contacted the military prosecutor's office of the Chelyabinsk garrison, but, according to lawyers, this may not be enough. To terminate the contract (if it was signed without the knowledge of the serviceman), most likely, it will be necessary to go to court and demand that all the circumstances of the incident be established. — As far as I know, the money came when I signed the contract, but in fact I didn’t sign anything. “I categorically refuse this money and ask that it be sent to solve this problem or to the necessary special services,” he wrote. “They came several times to incite our colleagues and very persistently tried to persuade us to sign the contract, but we stood our ground and didn’t sign anything. Another conscript, Viktor (name changed), told us by phone what he was told before the formation in late September. Before the recruitment, we were short 4 people because of contracts, but now everything is fine, we do not need more. Later, colleagues told Viktor that they saw his name and three other colleagues (one of whom also contacted us) on the list of contract soldiers.
"Usually, contract soldiers stay here in the unit for a while, or are transferred to the regiment for training, and then return to us. Then they either stay in the unit or are sent to the Northern Military District of our region, as well as for strikes," he says. "But now, when a new assault brigade is being formed, we are confident that contract soldiers will be able to go on the attack right away. We have already seen this.
