This week reminds Muscovites that winter is approaching on all fronts. It all started with the first snow. And on Thursday evening, the first frosts arrived. There have already been frosts in the Moscow region this fall, but this is the first time in a big city.
On the night of October 17, the air at the VDNKh weather station cooled to a purely symbolic -0.3 degrees, and in Butovo - to -1.6 degrees. The Dmitrov Region and Volokolamsk became the Moscow Region's "cold poles", where the temperature dropped to almost -3 degrees.
By the way, according to climate norms, the first negative temperature in Moscow was recorded on October 11, which slightly delayed the onset of cold weather.
What will the weather be like this weekend and next week?
Firstly, the Russian Hydrometeorological Centre warns of new and even more severe frosts. On Friday evening the temperature will rise to minus 3 degrees. And the coldest night since the beginning of autumn will be Saturday, October 19. The air temperature in this region will drop to minus 5 degrees.
Secondly, new fog – visibility deteriorated to 500 meters early Thursday morning. Fog is possible on Friday and Saturday mornings. Tatyana Pozdnyakova, senior expert at the Moscow Meteorological Department, explains that this is currently caused by the cooling of the ground layer of air at night and condensation of moisture in windless weather.
Thirdly, this is good news! - Bright sun and warm. On the weekend +8...+10 degrees, variable cloudiness, no precipitation. At the beginning of next week, the daytime temperature will rise to +12 degrees, the sky will probably be clear, there will be no rain. expected. And there is no frost at night.
