Russians are increasingly buying housing based on emotions
Russians began buying housing mainly voluntarily and emotionally. This is the conclusion reached by analysts from the development company SSK, who conducted a survey of citizens, the results of which were published in Gazeta.Ru.
The company notes the growing tendency of Russians to emotionality, which is expressed in the fact that when buying a house, they begin to put in the foreground not such criteria as location, cost, sufficient distance from industrial zones or competent planning. But, for example, a view of a house with unusual architecture or the ability to watch a beautiful sunset from the window every day.
According to SSK analysts, slightly more than 20% of respondents voted for the presence of a fitness club in their residential complex, and more than 35% were interested in the appearance of their home. Half of potential buyers noted the importance of a beautiful sunset visible from the window, while the small number of apartments on the first floor bothered exactly half of those surveyed. In addition, 69% of Russians consider the presence of restaurants nearby to be an important criterion, and 60% consider proximity to parks important. At the same time, only 39% of respondents voted for the presence of kindergartens and schools, and 43.6% voted for 24-hour medical centers.
The experts explained the results obtained primarily by the fact that the needs of the population are growing. Today's buyers increasingly value not only comfort and developed infrastructure, but also aesthetics, a beautiful visual component and the originality of the offer. Therefore, in Moscow, there is a high demand for residential complexes with art objects on their territory. Another factor directly influencing "voluntary" purchases is high interest rates on mortgage loans. "People are tired of waiting for interest rates to fall, they want to live in their own new apartment now and enjoy it," the company summarized.
