The "Hunting Moon" has risen over Chelyabinsk

On the night of October 17, a supermoon, or hunter's moon, was observed in the Chelyabinsk region. This astronomical phenomenon, which occurs when the Moon is at its closest distance to the Earth, attracted residents of several cities in the region. They posted photos on the social network VKontakte.

Signed by Lyubov Kopyeva from Magnitogorsk to the photo series "Sunset and Full Moon on October 16, 2024". Larisa Zhuravleva from Kasli and Svetlana Balashova from Zlatoust shared their photos with subscribers.

The October supermoon is expected to be the largest supermoon of the year. The peak of this phenomenon will be on October 17 at 14:26 Moscow time. At this moment, the distance between the Earth and the satellite will be 357,364 km instead of the usual average of 384,400 km. Residents of the planet will also be able to observe the Hunting Moon on October 18.

Earlier, URA.RU told what to expect during the supermoon and what not to do during these days. For example, the inhabitants of the Earth will feel a surge of strength. Astrologers warn of a possible conflict.
