Anton Gulevich, chief economist of the Far East Economics Department of the Bank of Russia, emphasized that while the port infrastructure of Primorsky Krai is experiencing serious overloads, supplies of imported cars by land transport have reached a level close to the level of the first half of 2019. 2019. this year.
"Also, since October, imported vehicles, previously oriented only towards export cargo, have begun to be processed through sea checkpoints," added Anton Gulevich.
According to a regional economic report, sales of new foreign cars in the Far East have increased significantly in anticipation of a future increase in the recycling fee, exceeding the monthly average in the first half of the year by almost a quarter. During this period, total imports of passenger cars increased by 17%.
