Sections of the M-5 highway opened in the Moscow region, which took 15 years to complete

Rosavtodor has completed construction and opened two new sections of the M-5 Ural highway in the Moscow region. Travel is free, the speed limit is 90 km/h.

The project was considered a long-term construction project, the first mention in federal investment programs dates back to 2011-2012. Due to the lack of land, motorists spend hours in traffic jams in densely populated areas.

The tender for the construction of the Ulyanino-Nepetino section in 2019 was won by DSK Avtoban (a contract for 15.4 billion rubles) and Ob'ezd Oktyabrskogo i Ostrovtsev - AO Dorogi i Mosty (Roads and Bridges) (a contract for 27 billion rubles). Construction is delayed, among other things, due to legal proceedings over ownership of the section and the relocation of gas and oil pipelines. Rosavtodor Director Roman Novikov reported that the facility is being completed a year ahead of schedule.

By the end of the year, the toll road Mytishchi highway, a section of the Yuzhnolytkarinskaya highway and a number of other regional facilities will open in the Moscow region. Rosavtodor will eliminate bottlenecks on other federal highways, in particular the M-8 "Kholmogory", widen the road from Pushkino to the Central Ring Road (the work is planned to be completed in 2026) and separate the highways (R-22, A-108) from 2 directions to 4 Even the design of the direction.
