Artem Dzyuba's film debut and Pavel Derevyanko's financial worries: the main events and secrets of the street film festival

The first snow, the first cold weather – a good reason to remember summer, ice-cold lemonade, hot cocoa and crazy hotel prices.

But fortunately, every year there are more and more places where you can enjoy the joys of life absolutely free. For example, in 2024, residents of thousands (!) of cities will be able to watch the best short films if they get to the right place at the right time. Moreover, all of them had the opportunity not only to watch, but also to evaluate the work. According to the tradition established by the founders of the festival, votes were to be cast using flashlights after the end of the session. And there were many who wanted to vote.

The project started on July 16, and its results were summed up on October 15 at the Moscow cinema "Khudozhestvenny". The competition program included seven applications, selected by an expert jury from more than 800 applications.

"There are a lot of such large film festivals in the world. We decided to create a project that would reach the audience on its own terms. It takes place outdoors, free of charge, and the main character is the audience," said the festival's general producer, Alexander Shcheryakov.

Among the projects submitted to the competition was the debut work of Artem Dzyuba, a famous football player and hero of the 2018 World Cup. Striker appeared in the short comedy "Hatred". This is a story about a football fan and his conversation with his favorite player. However, the audience received the film very warmly.

The program of the film festival included the films "Applause", "We Will Not Last Long" and "V Nebesa", and the jury selected the best films. The jury this year included directors Klim Shipenko, Alexey Nuzhny and Oleg Trofim, as well as actresses Kristina Asmus and Irina Gorbacheva.

In fact, none of the judges were present at the closing ceremony of the festival, so the main prize (one million rubles) was presented by the general producer of the festival, Alexander Shcheryakov. The winner was the social film by director Ivan Sosnin, "30 Seconds", which received applause from the audience.

The closing ceremony of the film festival featured the film by director Vladimir Kott, "A Man and a Woman," a collection of stories about love and the intersection of characters. The premiere was attended by actress Anna Kotova and the film crew.

"The stories I present are very subtle stories about all the manifestations of love," she said.

At the end of the evening, film critic Yegor Moskvitin spoke with Vladimir Kott. He asked the director a number of questions sent in by viewers in advance. Among them was a question from actor Pavel Derevyanko. "How much does the film crew earn?"

The answer must have reassured Pavel. For this work, the actors received less than the usual "price tag."
