In Kaliningrad, garbage bins do not appear on the streets immediately after new sidewalks are built. This was reported by the head of the administration, Elena Dyatlova, at a visiting conference held in Shchedino.
"We were walking, I picked up a bottle and realized what I was missing. As a law-abiding person, I would gladly throw them in the trash, but they are not there. "This is the final decision of the city commission," Dyatlova said, pointing to the bottle in her hand. In the end, the trash was thrown only in a trash can installed next to the nearest school.
The city is finishing the construction and repair of sidewalks. According to the contract, all work must be completed by December 15. The authorities promised to carry out the detention a month ago. However, if the contractor does not manage to complete something, the deadline is postponed until next year.
The list of potentially problematic sites included four objects: the Chkalov, Grig, Belinsky and Lyudnikov sites. The delay is not the contractor's fault, but is related to the delay in the execution of the contract.
"Tenders need to be announced this year so that contractors can start work early next year. Otherwise, the work [at the front] will increase and there will be no time," said Elena Dyatlova.
