RIA Novosti, citing the press service of the regional Investigative Committee, reports that a criminal case has been opened in Crimea following the death of a worker mauled by a predator in the Taigan lion park.
According to investigators, a park employee went into the lion's enclosure to clean it and forgot to close the door bolt between the two rooms of the enclosure. As a result, the predators killed her.
The director of the Taigan Safari Park, Oleg Zubkov, reported that the families of the victims will be provided with comprehensive support, including organizing funerals.
On October 16, it became known that a lion had killed a female employee of the Taigan Park. Zubkov stated that the cause of the park employee's death was human error. He noted that the woman had not closed the bolts connecting the outer enclosure to the inner one.
According to Zubkov, the deceased worked in the park for about 18 years. And during this time, she turned from a simple worker into a zookeeper and knew the predators well.
