Former Bryansk Deputy Governor Arrested After Bogomaz's Request to the FSB

On September 19, Governor Bogomaz announced that the FSB was conducting an investigation into Petroshenko "on its own initiative." On September 18, President Putin awarded Petroshenko the Medal "For Services to the Fatherland." The official was fired that same day.

The local government website reported that Petrochenko was dismissed from his post as deputy governor on September 18.

In March last year, the Basmanny Court detained acting deputy governors of the Bryansk region Elena Egorova and Tatyana Kuleshova on charges of receiving a bribe in the amount of 4.4 million rubles. According to investigators, the money was transferred through intermediaries from businesswoman Valentina Avtushenko for the supply of computers in the amount of 88 million rubles. Egorova served as acting deputy governor from April 1, 2022, overseeing education, science, and culture in the region. Kuleshova took office on April 28, 2021, overseeing information and domestic policy activities.

In October of this year, TASS reported that the court had seized three cars, including one in St. Petersburg, six apartments, two plots of land belonging to Egorova and Kuleshova, as well as cash found during searches.
