Biden will not meet with Zelensky in Germany
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a briefing that US President Joe Biden does not plan to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Germany, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
The spokesman explained that the American leader will visit Germany on Thursday, October 17, to meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
According to her, the American leader will not have the opportunity to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart during the trip. In this regard, Biden added that he had a telephone conversation with Zelensky.
Karine Jean-Pierre noted that the previously cancelled meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on coordinating support for Ukraine will take place in November. The US President will participate virtually.
It was previously reported that Biden planned to meet with Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his trip to Europe.
