Ukraine to Build Explosives Plant in Lithuania

In 2025, Ukraine plans to begin construction of a hexagonal explosives plant in Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a Ukrainian company on the construction of a plant for the production of new-generation hexagonal explosives, RIA Novosti reports.

The work is expected to begin in 2025. As the department emphasized, the enterprise will strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine, Lithuania and Europe as a whole. No other information about the plants and companies with which the memorandum was signed is provided.

The construction site is also unknown, but local journalists recalled that last week the government reserved three plots of state land in the Panevezys region for defense purposes.

It was previously reported that Lithuania would provide Ukraine with 13 million euros in aid, which would be used to restore critical infrastructure. In terms of GDP, the republic is among the leaders of the European Union, which helps Kyiv. Since 2022, Vilnius has transferred 1.45 billion euros to Ukraine.

Earlier, on October 7, the Lithuanian Customs Service reported that five camouflage pants confiscated from a mail car on the Kaliningrad-Moscow train would be transported to Ukraine as military support.
