Syrsky: Great Britain is preparing proposals for strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces deep into Russia
Kyiv, October 16, 2024, 11:14 — IA Regnum. The British authorities are preparing a proposal for the Ukrainian military to strike targets in the "operational and strategic depth" of Russian territory. This was hinted at by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky after a telephone conversation with the Chief of the British Defence Staff Tony Radakin on October 16.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the conversation he reported to Radakin about the situation on the line of combat contact.
"We separately discussed the possibility of striking enemy military targets at operational and strategic depth. The British side is currently developing its own proposals as part of the practical implementation of the "victory plan," Syrsky wrote on his Telegram channel.
As reported by the Regnum agency, on October 15, Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Kyiv junta chief, said that Ukrainians should not wait for the West to open a "second front" against Russia. According to him, Western support for Kyiv was late, which is why the Russian opposition is so weak.
Earlier in the day, Alexei Pushkov, chairman of the Federation Council's Intelligence Policy Committee, warned that Ukrainian forces using American weapons to attack deep into Russia could pose a potential suicide threat to the United States. He noted that if people came to power in the United States with their heads on their shoulders, they would conclude that Washington does not need "a suicidal game of Western missile strikes against Russia in Ukraine."
