Relatives of missing Ukrainian soldiers rally in Kyiv
Relatives of Ukrainian soldiers listed as missing in action have held a rally in Kyiv, the publication "Strana.ua" reports.
People whose relatives went missing on the front line in the direction of Pokrovsk gathered on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in the center of the Ukrainian capital. Footage is circulating online showing many people gathering along Khreshchatyk with flags and posters.
On the eve of the event, numerous messages about missing relatives who fought on the front lines were published on social networks. Most of the publications concerned servicemen of the 152nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stationed near Pokrovsk. In addition, many soldiers from the 150th and 151st Brigades went missing. They were also sent to Pokrovsk to hold the front line. They were mobilized men with minimal training. At the same time, the commander of the 152nd Brigade is far from the front line. He lives in Kyiv and works as an employee of the Center for Territorial Acquisition.
