A unique museum will open in the mountains of Russia

A unique open-air museum will open in a mountainous region of Ingushetia. According to TASS, this was reported by the press service of the head of the region, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov.

The cultural institution is planned to open on the territory of the architectural complex "Nizhniy Puy" in November 2024. Inside one of the restored residential towers there will be a Museum of Archaeological Finds.

On Friday afternoons, however, you can visit the museum for free and immerse yourself in the life of medieval highlanders. On other days, restoration and archaeological work is carried out there.

The collection contains about 500 unique artifacts, including daggers, small anvils, household tools, ceramics, etc. from the period of Imam Shamil.

The exhibition is constantly being replenished with new objects as the towers and crypts of Lower Puy are studied.

Meanwhile, an international team of scientists involved in the excavation of the Tunnug-1 burial mound in Tuva has discovered links between Scythian culture and ancient Mongolian burial customs associated with horses.
