In an interview with iHeartRadio, Harris said the United States "must not abdicate its responsibility as a global leader." She said it was in the national security interests of the United States to do so.
When asked why the authorities allocate funds to support other countries when money is needed to solve the country’s problems, she replied that the state can cope with both external and internal problems.
Earlier, preliminary results of early voting in the US presidential election were announced. According to a poll conducted by the Harvard Center for American Politics, Harris was behind her rival Donald Trump by only 1%.
However, an ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 50% of likely voters were willing to vote for the Democratic candidate, while 48% of respondents supported the Republican Party.
