Bad weather is gaining momentum: where in Krasnodar Krai there have already been heavy rains

Heavy rain has already fallen in four regions of southern Russia, including Krasnodar Krai.

The weather forecaster's forecast turned out to be correct. Severe weather in the south of Russia is gaining momentum. Heavy rain fell in four regions, including Krasnodar Krai. Thus, in the village of Gorni in the Tuapse region, 32 mm of precipitation was recorded over the past 24 hours. This is three waves of water per square meter.

- Over the past 24 hours, 15 mm fell in Stavropol Krai (Svetlograd) (43 mm in a month), Rostov Oblast (Shakhty) - 18 mm (43 mm in a month), Crimea (Ai-Petri) - 31 mm (39 mm in October), Krasnodar Krai (mountains) - 32 mm. Wind gusts reach 18 m/s. Heavy rain falls throughout the region in the mountains above 2100-2300 meters with temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Precipitation will be replaced by snow and thunderstorms in places." This was written on his Telegram channel by chief forecaster of the Fobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets.

As reported earlier, the heavy rains that will hit the entire Krasnodar Region on October 17 will be followed by a noticeable cold wave. As Svetlana Popova, Deputy Director of the Regional Hydrometeorological Center, told Kubanskiye Novosti the day before, the temperature on the weekend in the main areas of the region may drop to +1 degree, and the first frosts and wet snow are expected in the mountains. It will also be windy and foggy.

Remember that precipitation is the height in millimeters of the layer of water that would form on the Earth's surface if the Earth's surface were perfectly flat.

Precipitation in millimetres is numerically equal to the number of kilograms of water per square metre of area (1 mm = 1 kg/m2). For example, 15 mm of precipitation is equivalent to one and a half buckets of water per square metre of surface.
