Yekaterinburg City Hall Announces Construction of Second Stage of Mega Shopping Center
The construction of the new phase of the Mega Yekaterinburg shopping center is planned to begin in 2025. This was reported to the Duma Committee on Economic Development by the Deputy Director of the City Administration's Consumer Market Department, Maxim Afanasyev, a URA.RU correspondent reports.
"There are a number of sites on the horizon for commissioning future facilities. In particular, it is planned to continue building mega-shopping centers. This is the forecast for 2025 and subsequent periods," Afanasyev said. As the agency previously reported, the new and existing buildings will be connected by a gallery on the eastern side of the building. Construction is scheduled to be completed in December 2028.
According to him, next year it is planned to build a shopping mall on the First Five-Year Plan Square in the Ordzhonikidzevsky District and retail and office facilities at the intersection of Bebelya and Olkhovskaya Streets in the Zheleznodorozhny District. In 2024, no new shopping centers will be built in the city. According to Afanasyev, 44 of them are becoming morally and physically useless.
The City Hall is in the process of changing its internal space, that is, remodeling and rethinking. This includes the creation of entertainment spaces, the introduction of sports facilities, storage facilities, health care and catering.
