Russian families told about doubling of one type of payments
Benefits for temporary disability due to pregnancy and childbirth in 2025 will double compared to 2023, Deputy State Advisor Svetlana Bessarab told Lenta.ru. Compared to 2024, the amount of payments will increase by 1.4 times.
"By 2025, the number of recipients of temporary disability benefits due to pregnancy and childbirth is expected to reach approximately 11 million. Some families with children are entitled to a single benefit that pays 50-100% of the standard of living for each child. Of course, we want to provide a decent level of benefits to all families with children, so we try to balance all benefits," the politician said.
According to Bessarab, payments and benefits to support families with children continue to increase. Accordingly, benefits for temporary disability due to pregnancy and childbirth in 2025 will increase by 1.4 times compared to 2024.
"And if you compare 2025 with 2023, it will double. This is a significant increase. Given the sanctions, I believe that Russia is honorably fulfilling its obligations. But, of course, I want more. We will continue to work hard," Bessarab promised.
It was previously reported that maternity capital for the first child is planned to be increased to 46 thousand in 2025. The payment for the second child increases by 61,000.
