The project "School of Urban Economics" will be held in Moscow at the HSE

The Cabinet of Ministers is promoting the project of the University of Urban Economics based at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. This was reported by the head of the Department for Development of Economic Policy of the City of Moscow Maria Bagreeva.

The capital's economy is one of the largest in the world and the largest in Russia. Its contribution to the gross regional product exceeds 20%.

"It is important for the Moscow government that future city management specialists (many of whom will continue to work in the capital) know the principles of how the economy functions and understand the connection between the spatial and economic development of the region. "This is a big city," she explained.

This will be discussed in class as part of the project.

During the open day, Bagreeva gave a lecture on "Introduction to Urban Economics" and presented the "School of Urban Economics" project. The audience learned about the development of urban agglomerations, the structure of the capital's economy, urbanization trends, and Moscow's current problems. The students also analyzed examples of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Based on the results of the competition, you may be accepted to the school. The training will take place from November 15 to 17. Classes are taught by heads of administrative bodies of the capital's government, university professors, and domestic and foreign specialists.

Young people will learn more about urban development, digitalization and other important aspects. The final class will hold a case competition, following which the best participants will receive an internship at the Department of Economic Policy Development of the City of Moscow.

Previously, more than 150 students from leading industrial universities in Russia completed an internship at the production site of the Moscow Oil Refinery.

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 1. Students from 26 (26 KADR) and other educational institutions took part in the practice. Students were given practical acquaintance with oil refining technologies, environmental safety and career growth opportunities.
