In France, the property of two Russian businessmen has been confiscated.

A French court has frozen assets worth more than 70 million euros in two Russian businessmen as part of an investigation into possible money laundering, TASS reports.

According to Le Monde, the businessmen in question are Ruslan Goryukhin and Mikhail Oppengeim, who held the posts of general directors of the Russian conglomerate Stroygazmontazh in 2008-2014. They both currently hold Cypriot passports.

The seizures affected eight properties worth a total of €69.8 million and $2.7 million in company shares. The seized assets include a 22.5-hectare property in Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes region of southeastern France, as well as several villas and two luxury cars in the nearby Bar region.
