In the Vyborg Castle there is a monument to the cat Filimon, who for many years was the symbol and guardian of the museum.
According to TASS, he died of cancer last spring at the age of almost 18. Over the years, he was given the title "Sir" and the title of mascot. Cats became tourists' favorite animals. The museum noted that Filimon was one of the most "media people" of the museum. He was among the ten most famous cats in the region and the country.
"The world's only portrait of a cat in a fur coat has been installed in the lower courtyard of the Vyborg Castle! The meowing employee has been immortalized in bronze! The cat Filimon is waiting for guests," the agency's VKontakte page says.
