The Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg announced the verdict to the former deputy governor of the Leningrad Region Mikhail Moskvin, who was found guilty of large-scale bribery. This was reported by the joint press service of the city court on the Neva.
According to the investigation, Moskvin received two particularly large bribes. Also in 2021, Moskvin received 4.1 million rubles from Alexander Gorshenev through the mediation of Evgeny Bredikhin for general patronage. The former vice-governor should not interfere in the issues of coordinating the issues initiated by Gorshenev regarding the cost of design documentation and the volume of design and survey work planned for its implementation, the cost and procedure for implementation.
Prosecutors asked the court to sentence Moskvin to eight years of imprisonment in a maximum security penal colony, deprive him of the right to hold government positions and local government positions for 10 years, and impose a fine of 27 million rubles.
Moskvin admitted his guilt and signed a pre-trial cooperation agreement. The court sentenced him to four years of maximum security imprisonment and deprived him of the right to hold government positions and positions in local government for five years. Moskvin was immediately taken into custody.
