The St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly did not support the ban on migrants driving public transport

It is currently impossible to prohibit immigrants from using public transport in St. Petersburg. This was stated by the chairman of the St. Petersburg parliament's transport committee, Alexey Tsivilev, a 78.ru correspondent reports.

He stated that either St. Petersburg residents should work as drivers themselves, increasing their salaries so that the job becomes prestigious, or work harshly with immigrants, expelling those who are unsuitable.

The committee also recalled the May 10 disaster. Then, the driver of a passenger bus lost control and crashed into the fence of the Potseluyev Bridge, causing the vehicle to fall onto the Moika. Seven passengers died.

Tsivilev recalled that the driver had Russian citizenship. It is known that two companies did not hire him because he did not pass the professional selection, but one commercial company hired him and is currently not working in the city.

Let me remind you that earlier there were reports that immigrants could be banned from working as taxi drivers in St. Petersburg.
