Consulate General to assist Russians after incident with baby at Antalya airport
The Russian Consulate General in Turkey has promised to provide support to Russians after a newborn baby was found at the Antalya airport. RIA Novosti reports this in connection with the diplomatic mission.
The Russian Consulate General in Antalya is currently in contact with the newborn's mother, who is in a local hospital, and will provide the Russians with all necessary consular assistance, the State Department reported.
Earlier, the media reported that a Russian woman gave birth in an airport toilet. The woman left the baby in the bathroom. Some time later, airport employees discovered the newborn. Airport employees contacted law enforcement agencies and called an ambulance. The baby survived.
According to journalists, the Russian woman and the man accompanying her were trying to buy tickets for the next flight to Russia. They were detained by the police.
