Mishustin assessed the impact of "unprecedented" sanctions on Russian trade

At present, Russia's foreign trade is developing dynamically, despite "unprecedented challenges" such as large-scale sanctions from Western countries. This was reported by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as quoted by TASS.

He recalled that, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, the country's GDP grew by 4.2% in the first eight months of 2024.

The heads of government linked this dynamic to several factors. He named changes in exports and the expansion of trade and economic cooperation with friendly countries as the main reasons for the dynamic development of Russia's foreign trade. "The share of foreign trade in the total trade turnover is constantly increasing," Mishustin concludes.

Russian GDP has been growing for several years now. Accordingly, by the end of 2023, the national economy grew by 3.6%. At the same time, Mishustin previously emphasized that the positive dynamics will continue in 2024. According to the updated forecast of the Ministry of Energy, by the end of 2024, Russia's GDP will grow by 2.8%.
