In Yaroslavl, potatoes have almost doubled in price
Potato prices are expected to rise in Russia. According to Rosstat, prices for root crops are now 48.7% higher than at the end of last year. If in 2023 the price of 1 kg was an average of 30 rubles, then at the end of September this year it would cost 44 rubles. This is the average data for Russia.
A year ago, the Yaroslavl region had some of the lowest prices for potatoes (according to APK76.rf). Now the "best" price in convenience stores is 32 rubles. And this is a yellow price tag! The Magnit online store offers 39 rubles per kilogram, Pyaterochka - 38 rubles per kilogram, Dixy - 33 rubles per kilogram.
- Against the backdrop of record harvests last year, farmers reduced the area under crops from 315 thousand hectares to 285 thousand hectares. According to Rotstadt, harvesting was also complicated by weather conditions.
