Kremlin rejects accusations of Russia's interference in Moldova's election process

Russia does not interfere in the electoral processes in Moldova. The statement was made by the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov.

According to Peskov, there are many people in Moldova who would like to have good relations with Russia. But they have been denied the right to have their own political forces, the right to manage internal electoral processes and the right to say that they support the establishment of good relations with Russia, he said.

Earlier, the mayor of the Moldovan city of Orhei, Tatiana Cocea, was detained after searches were conducted in the ranks of the opposition. The search was conducted by employees of the National Anti-Corruption Center as part of a case of bribery of voters. Deputy Cocea and other city hall employees were also detained.
