Yamal has once again become the absolute leader in the rating of material well-being of the population
For two years in a row, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug has been ranked first in the Russian Federation regions by the material well-being of the population. Analysts note that Yamal scored up to 100 points.
"Rating of regions of the Russian Federation by material well-being of the population based on the results of 2023. The leader is the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The assessment score has not changed and remains at the maximum possible level of 100 points," RIA Novosti analysts reported in the study.
The Chukotka and Magadan regions also made it into the top three. Experts noted that the leading positions of the northern regions are associated with the high level of income of the population. This allows them to compensate for even the fairly high price level.
Earlier, Yamal worsened its position in federal rankings of employment prospects. The region dropped by 16 positions and took 24th place. Experts attribute the main reason for this decline to the increase in the number of Yamal residents wishing to leave their region.
