Customs officers confiscated a Toyota Vanguard SUV from a Tyumen resident. The car was given to the military
Tyumen customs officers handed over a Toyota Vanguard to representatives of the Central Military District. The car was confiscated from a Tyumen resident who failed to pay customs duties for importing the SUV into the country.
According to the press service of the Tyumen Customs, a resident of Tyumen temporarily imported a 2008 SUV from Japan through the Adler checkpoint, indicating that the document contained false information about the purpose of import. He registered the car as a temporary import to Russia. A year later, the car did not leave Russia and its owner did not declare it.
— Customs officers established that the owner of the SUV violated the period of temporary import of the vehicle to the customs territory of the EAEU. Let us recall that these cars must be exported from the customs territory of the EAEU within 12 months from the date of import or declared for free circulation with the payment of customs duties and taxes," said Tyumen Customs representative Maria Kudryashova.
The customs officers ruled that the Tyumen resident must pay 2.5 million rubles in customs duties and went to court. The court granted the motion to seize the car, and after issuing all the permits, the customs officers handed the car over to the military.
The average price of a 2008 Toyota Avantgarde on the secondary market is about 1.5 – 1.6 million rubles, depending on the configuration and condition of the car.
Earlier, bailiffs confiscated the vehicles of two Tobolsk residents. The men were repeatedly caught drunk, and the court decided to confiscate their car. The bailiff handed over the Nissan Almera and Porsche Cayenne to the Defense Ministry employees.
